Job Description

Fraza and Vitan Equipment is a full-service material handling business with over 300 skilled employees across Michigan and the East Coast.

We're seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to administer all aspects of our payroll and timekeeping functions. This role ensures multi-state compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process organization's payroll and collect payroll data to maintain accurate and timely payroll records.
  • Handle employee status changes, analyze payroll and employee expenses.
  • Maintain, update and audit HRIS as needed.
  • Create on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Audit payroll information for accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
  • Participate in problem-solving and special projects related to payroll and HRIS.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and address inquiries.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in using ADP's payroll software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Strong expertise in organization, multi-tasking, common sense, and problem-solving.
  • Proven attention to detail, quick turnaround times, and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is around $50,000-$60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
