Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tree Care Specialist to join our team at Townsend. As a key member of our urban forestry team, you will be responsible for maintaining trees for public safety and providing tree trimming services for assigned jobs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform tree pruning, tree removal, brush chipping, and stump grinding
  • Operate and service equipment and tools such as hydraulic tools, power tools, buckets, chippers, and sprayers
  • Cut away dead and excess branches from trees
  • Spray to treat diseased or unhealthy trees, including mixing chemicals and calibrating spray equipment
  • Identify tree species and characteristics of trees
  • Assess tree failure risk and provide training to other team members
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain the appropriate CDL
  • Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and meet physical requirements of the position
  • Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a tree care/maintenance program, including operation of stump grinders, chippers, chipper trucks, bucket trucks, and other tree-related equipment
