Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Specialist to join our team at Autokiniton. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for planning, setting up, and operating machine shop tools to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions to determine the best course of action for production.
  • Plan and execute the setup and operation of machine shop tools, considering factors such as material type, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds.
  • Perform welding repair and heat treatment of various materials, including tool steels.
  • Determine inspection specifications using precision measuring and gaging tools, and perform required inspections before, during, and after machining.
  • Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
  • Fabricate and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies, and set up, run off, and test dies to produce products to specifications.
  • Tear down, repair, and reassemble tooling as required.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program with a journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years' experience.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including 8D and 5 Whys methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with customers to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a self-starter mentality and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attendance record.
