Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist to lead our laboratory team and ensure the quality and accuracy of our testing processes. As an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising laboratory activities, as well as performing standard organoleptic, physical, and chemical testing.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and supervise laboratory activities to ensure efficient and accurate testing processes.
- Perform standard organoleptic, physical, and chemical testing using GLP's/cGMP's guidelines.
- Lead and monitor laboratory staff in performing sample preparation, inspection of instrumentation, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and calibration.
- Accurately document observations made during testing and maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduling routine calibration and maintenance.
- Develop and perform installation, operational, and performance qualification on new laboratory equipment in accordance with GLP's/cGMP's.
- Participate in and may provide continuing education and professional development for laboratory personnel.
- Plan workload distribution and make schedules, as well as supervise purchase of supplies and maintain equipment inventory.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize actions and workload, and maintain sample turnaround times.
- Able to make decisions and lead with minimal supervision/direction.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry (analytical chemistry is ideal), microbiology, food science, biology, or health science; or 3 to 5 years of work-related experience and/or training.
- Experience with USP, FCC, and AOAC testing methodologies.
- Experience with lab instrumentation such as HPLC, ICP, GC, FTIR, etc.
- Considerable knowledge of the basic principles and laboratory applications of chemistry and microbiology.
- Knowledge of current laboratory facilities, methods, equipment, reagents, and GLP.
- Strong leadership, time management, and customer service skills.
- English Language Proficiency.

- Exposure to chemical odors may be encountered. Personal protection equipment is available for use.
- Handling of hazardous chemicals including caustics, acids, and flammable hydrocarbons.
- Gloves, aprons, glasses, and other P.P.E. are available and required when handling certain chemicals.
