As a key member of the City of New York's Facilities Management team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and operating the city's 55 public buildings, totaling over 15 million square feet.

**Your Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain, repair, and operate all building system equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire suppression, and generators.
  • Work with stationary engineers and their staff to ensure building systems are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Install, maintain, and repair piping, controls, and equipment for heating systems, compressed air systems, refrigerating systems, air conditioning systems, steam and hot water systems, fire suppression systems, cooling systems, and sprinkler systems.

**Requirements:**

  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a Steam Fitter.
  • Not less than two and one-half years of such experience plus sufficient full-time experience as a helper or apprentice or relevant education or training to make up a total of five years of acceptable experience.
  • Six months of experience will be credited for each year of apprenticeship or helper experience or for each year of completed approved trade or vocational school training in the steam fitting field.
