Assembly Team Lead Job Description

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Assembly Team Lead to oversee and coordinate the activities of the assembly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely production of products while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervise and lead the assembly team members, including assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Coordinate assembly activities to optimize workflow and meet production targets. Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing as needed to maintain efficiency.
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards by conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Work closely with quality assurance personnel to address any quality issues.
  • Identify and resolve problems that may arise during the assembly process, such as equipment malfunctions or material shortages. Collaborate with maintenance and logistics teams to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Evaluate the performance of assembly team members and provide regular feedback and coaching. Recognize and reward achievements and address any performance issues through appropriate disciplinary measures or training interventions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the assembly team and management, conveying relevant information, updates, and concerns. Foster open communication and teamwork within the assembly team.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in the assembly department. Solicit input from team members and implement best practices as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading successful teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
