About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician II to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the sterile field for surgical operations, including setup of sterile instruments and draping of patients.
  • Assist surgeons in gowning and gloving, and pass instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Support the surgical team during operations by holding retractors and anticipating surgeons' needs.
  • Distribute supplies and perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
Work Environment

This is a per diem/casual position with variable days and hours. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
