Clinical Instructor Opportunity in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Instructor to join our team in the MSN program at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in the clinical and laboratory settings, utilizing evidence-based practice and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in mandatory training and meetings required before the semester, including site-specific orientation.
  • Teach in the clinical/laboratory/simulation settings, creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Ensure complete assigned clinical hours and maintain familiarity with theory content.
  • Provide standardized learning experiences and follow the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and Program Director.
  • Attend course planning meetings and ensure students complete compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and submit incident reports and take students to the Occupational Health Clinic as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with nurse managers, staff nurses, and other clinical unit representatives.
  • Meet with students to address performance concerns and provide feedback on clinical/laboratory/course progress.
  • Communicate with the clinical coordinator and students regarding academic performance and non-academic issues.
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Master's degree in nursing or DNP.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience as an RN or advanced practice nurse.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage details and problem-solve in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment or commitment to do so.
