Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited institution
- License: RN license in the state (must be obtained within 90 days of graduation)
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or completion of a course during the probation period.
- Licensure: Must be eligible to take the board of nursing exam.
- Other Requirements: Working conditions include standing and walking for most of the shift, meeting unit-specific physical demands, and performing tasks such as bending, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. Flexibility in scheduling may be required based on patient care needs. High risk of exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Equipment used is unit-specific.
Mercy recognizes this as a safety-sensitive role. Maintaining a constant state of alertness and ensuring safety is a fundamental aspect of this position.
