Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at the University of California. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical histology tasks and procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, immunofluorescence, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform histology tasks and procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and immunofluorescence.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of histology results.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment, including microtomes and staining machines.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new histology procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a histotechnologist.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as biology, chemistry, or histotechnology.
  • Microtomy, sectioning, and embedding proficiency.
  • Histotechnician or Histotechnology certification by A.S.C.P.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals and biological materials. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Compensation

The annual full pay range for this position is $79,782 - $99,159, with an hourly equivalent of $47.49. The University of California offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings and paid time off.
