Psychiatric Nurse Specialist

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse to join our team. As a PMH RN, you will play a critical role in promoting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through prevention, education, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment: Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a psychiatric facility setting.
- Recovery Support: Partner with individuals to achieve their recovery goals and provide health promotion and maintenance services.
- Crisis Intervention: Practice crisis intervention and stabilization techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Education and Training: Teach self-care activities, administer and monitor psychobiological treatment regimens, and educate patients, families, and communities.
- Case Management: Conduct intake screening, evaluation, and triage, and provide case management services.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate care within interdisciplinary teams and revise the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in psychiatric and medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
- Education and Licensure: Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, proficiency in the English language, and computer proficiency.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
