Job Title: Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our innovative, highly efficient, and expandable securities processing system and data repository. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, creating, and upgrading valuable, efficient, and scalable solutions to enrich and expand the CRSP Research Products platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions using Scala, Java, or C#.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and execute viable plans, schedules, and robust solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members by educating and coaching on best practices in functional and object-oriented principles.
  • Nurture positive and productive relationships with all CRSP colleagues in an atmosphere of collaboration, coordination, and respect.
  • Support the integration of Azure cloud architecture within the organization.
  • Design and assist in implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline software delivery processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least four years of relevant programming experience.
  • Proficient in Scala, Java, or C#.
  • Skills in data-driven programming and various databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant programming experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience leading software projects and mentoring junior developers.
  • Familiarity with functional/declarative programming concepts.
  • Experience with Scala and Apache Spark, as well as Python 3 and the Panda's library.
  • Skills in diagnosing and resolving performance issues in relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Experience in an Agile environment with robust engineering practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in the securities and financial industry, or additional education in finance, is advantageous.
  • Experience utilizing Azure cloud services.
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps and general CI/CD principles and practices.
