Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Designer I to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As an Architectural Designer I, you will be responsible for creating designs for various projects, conducting zoning research, and applying current codes and ADA requirements to develop site plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop designs for assigned projects, including creating site plans and applying codes and regulations.
  • Conduct zoning research and analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Apply current codes and ADA requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake surveys and create existing conditions drawings.
  • Develop schematic and design development sketches, renderings, and concept boards for client presentations.
  • Research and select products for use on projects.
  • Produce construction documents under the direction of Project Managers or senior team management.
  • Coordinate with consulting engineers, product representatives, and other sources to ensure project intent.
  • Verify and evaluate completed construction at job sites.
  • Adhere to corporate quality control standards and check own work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and process shop drawings and submittals for design intent.
Qualifications
  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of experience: expected to undertake a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of larger projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience: expected to be fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture, independently performing assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Non-licensed architectural staff.
  • Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCad Architecture version 2022, with the ability to annotate plans and details.
  • Working knowledge of Word & Excel, and 3D Rendering Software.
  • Proficient in the firm's 3D Rendering Software, able to generate renderings and apply materials and finishes.
  • Actively seeking licensure, with NCARB membership, and working toward completing certification.
  • Actively seeking LEED accreditation and membership/participation in industry-focused events.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
