About the Role

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is seeking a highly motivated and spiritually gifted individual to serve as an Area Representative. This role is a critical part of our ministry, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about spreading the Gospel and making disciples in the sports environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ministerial Duties: The Area Representative will be responsible for ensuring that the FCA ministry is conducted according to biblical standards and adheres to FCA policies and procedures. This includes:
    • Agreeing with and abiding by FCA's Christian Community Statement.
    • FOLLOWING A SPIRITUAL RHYTHM INCLUDING DAILY PRAYER AND BIBLE STUDY TO SEEK THE LORD'S WILL FOR FCA.
    • LEADING, CONDUCTING, AND PROVIDING SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP FOR STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, COACHES, AND ATHLETES THROUGH PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, WORSHIP, AND LIVING BY EXAMPLE SO THEY ARE EQUIPPED TO SERVE OTHERS.
    • CONNECTING TO AND PARTICIPATING IN A LOCAL CHURCH THROUGH WORSHIP AND WEEKLY INVOLVEMENT.
    • CONDUCTING YOURSELF IN A MANNER THAT AFFIRMS BIBLICAL STANDARDS OF CONDUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH FCA'S CHRISTIAN BELIEFS (SEE FCA'S CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY STATEMENT) AT ALL TIMES.
  • Ministry Advancement: The Area Representative will be responsible for engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes by ministering through 1-on-1s, Huddles, and Events. This includes:
    • ENGAGING, EQUIPPING, AND EMPOWERING COACHES AND ATHLETES BY MINISTERING THROUGH 1-ON-1S, HUDDLES, AND EVENTS.
    • TRAINING AND EQUIPPING STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS TO EMPOWER COACHES AND ATHLETES TO BE DISCIPLES WHO MAKE DISCIPLES IN THE SPORTS ENVIRONMENTS.
  • Talent Advancement: The Area Representative will be responsible for overseeing recruiting, training, and developing effective and diverse volunteers who lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. This includes:
    • OVERSEEING RECRUITING, TRAINING, AND DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE AND DIVERSE VOLUNTEERS WHO LEAD EVERY COACH AND ATHLETE INTO A GROWING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH.
    • RECRUITING: ACTIVELY ATTRACT AND RECRUIT HIGHLY QUALIFIED VOLUNTEERS TO THE SPORTS ENVIRONMENTS.
    • TRAINING: PROVIDE TOOLS, RESOURCES, AND TRAINING TO DEVELOP VOLUNTEERS' SKILLS AND INCREASE THEIR CAPACITY AND COMPETENCE TO EFFECTIVELY EXECUTE THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES.
    • DEVELOPING: PREPARE VOLUNTEERS IN THEIR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BY HELPING THEM GROW SPIRITUALLY AND PERSONALLY.
  • Board Advancement: The Area Representative will be responsible for inviting, involving, and investing in an Advisory Team that is committed to pray, serve, and give. This includes:
    • INVITING, INVOLVING, AND INVESTING IN AN ADVISORY TEAM THAT IS COMMITTED TO PRAY, SERVE, AND GIVE.
  • Donor Advancement: The Area Representative will be responsible for connecting, communicating, and caring for existing and prospective financial partners to get fully funded. This includes:
    • CONNECTING, COMMUNICATING, AND CARING FOR EXISTING AND PROSPECTIVE FINANCIAL PARTNERS TO GET FULLY FUNDED.
    • MANAGING AND STEWARDSHIP THE FINANCES FOR THE ASSIGNED AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY.
    • ESTABLISHING AND EXECUTING AN ANNUAL BUDGET AND FUNDING PLAN BY GROWING THE HOME TEAM, MAJOR DONORS, AND EVENTS.
  • International Advancement: The Area Representative will be responsible for working with the Director to serve the aligned International Region by praying, giving, and going. This includes:
    • WORKING WITH THE DIRECTOR TO SERVE THE ALIGNED INTERNATIONAL REGION BY PRAYING, GIVING, AND GOING.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Area Representative must have a strong spiritual foundation, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for spreading the Gospel and making disciples in the sports environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in ministry, leadership, and team development, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
