Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital. As a key member of our Mammography department, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures and ensuring patient safety protocols are in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mammography examinations and correlate clinical history with test results.
- Position patients for optimal imaging and shield them from radiation as needed.
- Operate equipment safely and maintain it in good working order.
- Instruct patients on examination procedures and complete assessment forms accurately.
- Assess patient pain and make physician contact as necessary.
- Perform special radiographic examinations, such as needle localizations and magnification views.
- Process exams, including loading patient demographics, imaging, and transferring images to PACS.
- Adhere to Radiation Safety standards and work collaboratively with patients, staff, and surgeons to ensure quality patient care.
- Transport patients, specimens, and instruments, and maintain a clean environment.
- Ensure result letters are printed and mailed in a timely fashion.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Radiologic Tech-Radiographer licensure is mandatory.
- Additional Mammography certification is preferred.

Estimated Salary
$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
