At St. Lukes HealthBrazosport Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technical Coordinator to join our team. This is a key role that oversees laboratory personnel and operations to ensure compliance and quality in accordance with laboratory work processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Coaches laboratory personnel to adhere to relevant policies and ethics
  • Oversees laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions
  • Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
  • Administers laboratory inventories, including supplies, equipment, and consumables
  • Assists with the selection of test methodology and verification of test procedures
  • Ensures performance within an HHS-approved proficiency testing program
  • Administers a quality control program and establishes parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance
  • Trains staff in and assists with the resolution of technical problems
  • Ensures patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken
  • Identifies training needs and assures that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA
  • 2 years of clinical lab experience in the designed lab area/specialty
  • Preferred licensure and certifications: MT or CLS or MLS certification, ASCP or equivalent
