Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Tech Role

Overview:
UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Tech to join our esteemed Cardiology Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform echocardiograms, including 2D, Doppler, and stress echocardiography, according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality of images.
  • Assist cardiologists in interpreting test results and providing preliminary findings for patient evaluation.
  • Document procedures, patient information, and test results accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiac sonography program.
  • Vascular training and experience secondary.
  • Current registry in either cardiac and/or vascular sonography through the ARDMS/CCI.
  • BLS & Mandatory Reporter.
  • Proficiency in performing 2D, Doppler, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
