  • Reporting Structure:
    • Reports directly to the Clinical Director.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • None; however, may delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed support staff.
  • Patient Age Range:
    • Care may include Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients as applicable.
  • Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens:

  • Qualifications:
    • Education:
      • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within one year of hire, with completion within five years if hired after specified date.
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Required: Valid California RN license; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
      • Preferred: Certification in a specialized nursing area.
    • Experience:
      • Preferred: Experience in specialty areas or higher acuity settings, or participation in relevant internship programs.
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and compliance policies, proactively addressing compliance issues and reporting any suspected violations.
    • Conducts thorough assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual conditions, utilizing age-appropriate data.
      • Demonstrates proficient assessment skills, ensuring accurate documentation within established organizational standards.
      • Engages in multidisciplinary care planning to identify and address patient needs, adjusting care plans as necessary.
    • Implements care plans that reflect identified patient needs, utilizing a relationship-based care model to guide interactions with patients and their families.
      • Completes patient care assignments in accordance with established clinical protocols.
      • Utilizes effective communication skills to relay pertinent information.
    • Incorporates patient education and discharge planning into care to enhance patient outcomes.
      • Provides education to patients and families, ensuring understanding and retention of information.
      • Coordinates discharge planning to maintain continuity of care post-discharge.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and clinical competency.
      • Participates in professional development activities and staff meetings, seeking to address knowledge gaps.
