Job Overview
A career opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Wabtec. This role involves designing and developing control applications using Matlab/Simulink, with a focus on the Next Gen Locomotive Control Architecture. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical or electronics engineering, with experience in control systems and software development.

About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8+ years of hands-on experience in Matlab/Simulink control application software development. They should also possess knowledge of professional software engineering practices and scripting skills using Matlab or Python. The typical day for this role will involve leading and designing Matlab/Simulink control applications using MBSE techniques, contributing to the Application architecture definition and implementation, and preparing content for design reviews.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop control applications using Matlab/Simulink
• Contribute to the Application architecture definition and implementation
• Prepare content for design reviews
• Develop and test Matlab/Simulink models
• Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies using MATLAB/Python
• Lead issue resolution and ensure robust launch of products
• Define Application requirements and allocate to applications to meet system-level functional requirements
• Define interfaces among control applications within software
• Support integration and testing activities on various platforms: software in the loop, hardware in the loop, and actual target/production system

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• At least 8+ years of hands-on experience in Matlab/Simulink control application software development
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and scripting skills using Matlab or Python
• Experience in developing and testing embedded software using MBSE techniques
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture and/or Rational Rhapsody software

Benefits
Wabtec offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health, welfare, and retirement plans.
