Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team at Walgreens. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and clinical expertise to our customers.

Job Objectives:

Our ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of pharmacy operations, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, and pharmacy software and technology systems. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.

Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Patient Experience:
    • Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
    • Resolve patient issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and joyful experience.
    • Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
  • Operations:
    • Counsel patients and answer their questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, less expensive medicines, over-the-counter products, and refer to medical provider as needed.
    • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
    • Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications when necessitated by workload.
    • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies and standards.
  • People & Performance Management:
    • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
    • Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitors and recognizes progress, and fosters a shared vision.
  • Training & Personal Development:
    • Maintain current knowledge and required licensing/credentialing/certification as established by federal and state regulations to provide such clinical services.
    • Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare by reading pharmacy related journals, company publications, and communications.
