Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to join our Italian (Foreign Languages) department. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Italian language and culture courses at the college level
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Italian
  • OR - Master's in Italian
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in Italian AND master's degree in another language or linguistics
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
Working Conditions

Adjunct faculty positions are part-time and may include teaching assignments at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.

Compensation

Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
