Occupational Therapist for Educational Settings

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide specialized therapeutic services within an educational environment. This role is essential in enhancing the learning and developmental outcomes for students requiring support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations to identify student needs and create customized therapy plans.
- Work collaboratively with educators, families, and school staff to implement therapy strategies effectively in the classroom.
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions focusing on motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive techniques.
- Facilitate training sessions for teachers and parents on effective strategies to assist students with diverse needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans to ensure optimal results.
- Participate in the development and assessment of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend relevant meetings.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of California.
- Preferred certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Experience in working with children in educational or school-based settings is highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of child development, special education, and therapeutic practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
