Key Responsibilities:

The role encompasses a variety of accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to general ledger management, accounts payable oversight, fixed asset accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, and adherence to regulatory standards. This position will play a pivotal role in the development, communication, and interpretation of financial policies, as well as in enhancing internal controls and systems. The successful candidate will supervise both internal and external audit processes, ensuring robust internal controls are in place. Additionally, the role involves providing analytical support to various departments regarding accounting matters and driving ongoing cost efficiencies throughout the organization.

Safety is paramount in all positions at Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to initiating, leading, and maintaining safety protocols, practices, and standards consistently.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial closing and reporting in accordance with GAAP
Desirable Qualifications:
  • CPA certification and/or an Advanced Business degree
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Public Accounting
  • Proficient in Advanced Excel and possess leadership/supervisory experience
