Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Technician A to join our team at Pep Boys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle issues, leading a team of technicians, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including brake, hydraulic, exhaust, and electrical systems.
  • Lead a team of technicians to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Communicate technical information to customers and colleagues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and techniques through ongoing training and education.
  • Assist colleagues with technical tasks and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive repair and diagnosis.
  • ASE certifications (A4, A5, and 2 additional) preferred.
  • Section 609 certification required.
  • State Inspection license if applicable.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
Physical Demands
  • Lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment.
  • Enter and locate information on computer.
  • Present information to small and large groups.
  • Visually verify information, often in small print.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.

The pay range for this position is between $27.00 and $30.00 per hour, based on experience, with a guaranteed rate of $19.00 per hour.
