Security Specialist - Administration of Safety Services - WST - Part Time - Evenings - Every Weekend
Responsible for safeguarding the premises, personnel, patients, and visitors within the healthcare facility. Engages with and updates supervisors regarding activities, requirements, and issues in designated areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts regular patrols of hospital facilities to deter fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Observes visitor behavior on hospital grounds; questions unauthorized individuals as necessary.
- Identifies and reports safety hazards or security breaches.
- Assists hospital staff and visitors by responding to inquiries for guidance or support.
- Participates in investigations; maintains documentation and prepares incident reports related to security operations.
- Locks and unlocks offices and facilities as needed.
- Safeguards patient valuables and lost items; keeps accurate logs of received items.
- Adheres to established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety protocols.
- Ensures department supplies and equipment are functional; requests additional supplies or informs supervisors of needs.
- Utilizes hospital vehicles in emergencies to secure critical supplies and life-saving equipment.
- Provides necessary restraints for psychiatric patients and escorts staff to parking areas and hospital buildings.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred experience in security or law enforcement.
- Preferred Security Officer License (New York State) from the NYS Department of State.
