Position Overview

The role of the Admissions Counselor is to deliver expert-level support services to prospective students, faculty, and alumni. This position is essential in fostering a welcoming environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in fields such as education, communications, social sciences, business, marketing, or a closely related discipline is mandatory. A minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in education or recruitment is essential. Relevant experience encompasses secondary education, higher education, enrollment management, community outreach, program coordination, or the development of outreach initiatives.

Compensation Structure

Salary within the advertised range is contingent upon the candidate's educational background and/or years of relevant experience. Typically, new hires are placed in the lower third of the salary scale.

Key Responsibilities

Provides leadership and/or support to designated College divisions and functions. Aids in the formulation and execution of policies, procedures, and initiatives. Maintains a thorough understanding of the College's structure, culture, policies, and practices. Acts as a liaison for both internal and external organizations. Conducts workshops and presentations as necessary. Participates in relevant departmental, division, and college-wide committees. Prepares, analyzes, and submits reports on various subjects as requested.

Specific Duties for the Role

Delivers exceptional service to students and other internal and external stakeholders. Recruits prospective graduates for all educational programs, including credit and workforce opportunities offered by the College. Develops and executes strategic and tactical plans to meet established recruitment objectives. Provides leadership and coordination for assigned recruitment outreach initiatives, which may involve organizing information sessions or other on-campus recruitment events, external outreach programs, or special occasions. Gathers, documents, and reports data from recruitment activities. Cultivates relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Engages in ongoing communication with prospective students through various methods, including in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, information sessions, high school visits, college fairs, and other events. Collects inquiries and assists in converting them to applicants while guiding them through each step of the enrollment process. Reviews and evaluates application-related materials. Supports recruitment initiatives aimed at enhancing the growth of special populations. Maintains accurate records of recruitment efforts and assists the Assistant Director with compiling data related to the effectiveness of initiatives. Works independently within a team on special and ongoing projects. Assists the Assistant Director of Admissions with program development and strategic planning, while monitoring priorities and progress towards departmental goals.
