About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker I to join our team at the Department of Children and Families (DCF). As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing essential services to children in need, including those who are homeless, in foster care, or experiencing abuse and neglect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate the needs of children and families, developing and implementing strength-based service plans to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct home and foster care visits, providing support and guidance to families and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with DCF staff, community agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children and families.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, providing counseling and coordinating visits with biological parents and/or guardians.
  • Attend weekly supervision, staff meetings, and in-service training to stay up-to-date on best practices and agency policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or a related field.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Social Work Associate, Licensed Social Worker, or a related license issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • A commitment to the core practice values of child-driven, family-centered, community-focused, strength-based, and culturally competent practice.
