About This Role


We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist II with a background in Blood Bank to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for performing various tests and procedures on patient specimens to assist in diagnosis, study, and treatment or prevention of disease.



Responsibilities



  • Perform blood bank testing and transfusion medicine procedures
  • Evaluate test results and determine whether they should be released, repeated, or referred to a pathologist
  • Serve as a key operator for implementing new equipment and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure seamless operations
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical or biological science
  • Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), MT (HHS or HEW), MT (AAB), generalist or categorical if applicable
  • Two years of experience required, three preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
