Pilot Instructor Job Description

Crew Training International is seeking a highly skilled MQ-9 Pilot Instructor to join our team. As a Pilot Instructor, you will be responsible for providing training to students in the operation of the MQ-9 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and conduct aircraft preflight training required to support the syllabi.
  • Coordinate with the Government Flight Representative (GFR) for appropriate flight approvals prior to any live flight.
  • Perform administrative duties relative to training such as recordkeeping, monitoring student progress.
  • Serves as aircraft type Subject Matter Expert (SME) for curriculum development, students and other personnel as required.
  • Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, capability and expertise.
  • Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels with students to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior MQ-9 pilot training, specifically the United States Air Force (USAF) MQ-9 Pilot Initial Qualification Training course (IQT), USMC MQ-9 Pilot Training Course at VMUT-2, or industry equivalent MQ-9 Pilot Training Course.
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) First or Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate, or a current DD Form 2992 at the GFR's discretion, reflecting the individual is medically cleared for flight duty.
  • No less than 550 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in MQ-9 aircraft and no less than 25 hours of MQ-9 instructor time.
  • Minimum five years experience as a pilot required, ten years preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous MQ-1/9 Pilot Instructor preferred.
  • Current security clearance of "Secret" or above.
