Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at J P Mascaro and Sons. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, and auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic and repair work on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, and other related components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts to execute repairs.
  • Adhere to manufacturer's warranty policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and safely resolve problems with heavy-duty diesel equipment.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
Requirements:
  • Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferrable experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.
  • Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
