Outpatient Therapist

The University of Minnesota is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Therapist to join our team at the Center for Health Equity and Community Partnerships (CHECP). As a key member of our mental health outpatient therapy team, you will provide high-quality care to diverse patients in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health conditions, developing patient care plans based on defined areas of clinical expertise.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, individual, group, couple, and family therapy interventions.
- Prepare and complete mandated documentation within established timelines, including diagnostic assessments, individual treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, safety assessments, and required screenings.
- Maintain daily productivity expectations as defined for outpatient therapists.
- Identify desired patient outcomes, evaluate, and monitor patient response to care, using current best practice guidelines and developed CUHCC clinical protocols in a cultural context.
- Completed a Master's or Doctorate degree program in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Master's degree plus at least four years of experience, or a terminal degree plus at least one year of experience.
- Independently licensed Mental Health Professional as defined by MN statute as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). License must be active and in good standing.
CHECP serves nearly 11,000 patients a year through over 55,000 visits annually. Our patient population comes from over 12 different racial and ethnic groups that span five continents. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly present information through the spoken or written word, read and interpret complex information, talk with customers or clients, and listen well.
