Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant/EMT

Koniag Government Services (KGS) is seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant/EMT to support our government customer in Glynco, GA.

This is a part-time position that requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical assistant care within the scope of services defined by Kadiak for the FLETC Occupational Health Care Clinic in Glynco, GA.
  • Perform components of physical exams, including vital signs, height, and weight, ECG, phlebotomy, TB skin testing, and documentation of all clinical data on required forms.
  • Provide immunizations according to KGS policies, SOPs, and standing orders.
  • Provide non-emergency care to KGS clients according to KGS protocols.
  • Obtain patient history and pertinent family history.
  • Prepare patient for physical examination.
  • Prepare and administer routine immunizations to adult patients.
  • Carry out Nurse Clinic Manager, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and physician orders and document in patient medical record.
  • Retrieve and enter pertinent data in EHR and other computer-based systems or paper-based systems.
  • Communicate pertinent patient data to the appropriate provider.
  • Possess knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most used ambulatory clinic drugs and record in medical record.
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate resuscitative measures.
  • Assist in patient education regarding prescribed procedures.
  • Transport patients to off-site medical appointments.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program.
  • One-year related experience preferred.
  • Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Have and maintain current driver's license.
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.

The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.

The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
