Responsibilities will include:
- Providing patient care and support to animals in critical condition
- Instructing and demonstrating techniques to students
- Assisting students, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians in their work
- Maintaining supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of hospital areas
You will have the opportunity to develop and utilize advanced skills, including central line placement, arterial catheters, urinary catheters, tracheostomy care, ventilator, and dialysis patient care. Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical or vocational school in Veterinary Technology
- 6 months to 1 year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in extensive patient care, surgery, anesthesia, drug-dosing, and sterilization
- Experience in the use of spreadsheet and word processing software
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in an educational setting
- Background in emergency medicine

Summary of Physical Demands:
Lifting and carrying animals up to 50 pounds individually, or 150 pounds as a team.
Summary of Health Risks:
TB risk or potential exposure to animal or specimens with Mycobacterium bovis. Work with animals or unfixed animal tissue. Wear a respirator (does not include paper dust mask worn for comfort).
