Key Responsibilities:
- The Warehouse Facilities Operations Supervisor oversees the Maintenance Technicians, coordinating their efforts to ensure the warehouse operates efficiently around the clock. This includes supervising repairs, troubleshooting, and the operation of facility equipment. The supervisor will initiate and oversee preventative maintenance measures.
- Organize daily tasks for Maintenance Technicians, prioritizing work based on urgency and importance.
- Provide technical guidance in resolving equipment breakdowns and troubleshooting issues.
- Assess whether maintenance issues can be addressed internally or require external expertise, providing recommendations to management.
- Monitor the workload and performance of maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with management to outline facility needs for the fiscal year, including the financial implications of equipment repairs or replacements.
- Manage employee attendance and timekeeping within the company’s system.
- Report on staff productivity on a weekly basis.
- Procure materials necessary for upcoming maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with the Facility Support Administrator to oversee the work order system.
- Inspect the work of Maintenance Technicians to ensure quality and completion.
- Schedule and manage contractors for projects, ensuring discussions with management occur prior to project initiation.
- Handle the purchasing of materials and tools, requiring prior approval from management.
- Assist in conducting performance evaluations for maintenance staff.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules based on equipment availability and production changes.
- Oversee snow removal and salting operations for designated areas, responding to weather advisories as necessary.
- Review and approve invoices as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities to ensure they are well-maintained.
- Identify and address safety concerns proactively.
- Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and hot work permits.
- Support management in completing periodic performance assessments.
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding employee performance, recommending formal actions when necessary.
- Promote and exemplify safe work practices among all employees.
- Participate in special projects and other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within facility maintenance, demonstrating a strong track record in similar responsibilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and achieve results through team collaboration.
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and light machinery repairs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Attention to detail is crucial, particularly regarding safety protocols and record-keeping.
- Proficient in various computer software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights of at least 50 ft, with the capacity to perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures and conditions throughout the year.
- Availability for overtime and emergency response as needed.
