Job Overview

The California Department of Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide support and assistance in the classroom.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in supervising and instructing students with special education needs
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning requirements
  • Help students master assigned subject matter and develop essential skills
  • Administer tests, take attendance, and maintain accurate records
  • Supervise students during lunch, on the playground, and on field trips
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including filing, typing, and duplicating materials
  • Participate in district in-service programs and stay updated on best practices
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Paid or volunteer experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, child behavior characteristics, and instructional methods
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Pass the District's adopted Proficiency Examination
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
