Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Merced County, CA. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview clients to document health conditions and determine eligibility for program participation.
  • Obtain medical histories, record observations, and maintain client records.
  • Order supplies and stock treatment rooms.
  • Participate in community-oriented educational activities and programs.
  • Independently perform work at outreach clinics and make home visits.
  • Assist with medical procedures by preparing clients and arranging supplies and instruments.
  • Perform clinical tasks and administer medications, including injections, under the direction of the County Health Officer and/or Designee.
  • Under supervision, contact individuals with confirmed communicable diseases and ask standardized questions to identify potentially exposed contacts.
  • Locate individuals who are potentially exposed to communicable diseases, notify of exposure, and required precautions such as testing, quarantine, or other actions.
  • Provide handouts and other reference material.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of experience performing a variety of medical duties (clerical and paraprofessional), either voluntary or paid, in a healthcare setting.
  • Completion of 15 semester units of college-level coursework in Behavioral Sciences, Biology, Social Services, Nutrition, Health Education, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a valid Medical Assistant Certification.
