Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Multifamily Empire. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our properties and performing necessary repairs to maintain our apartment complexes in top condition.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and inspect tools to ensure they are in excellent condition.
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair tasks, including electrical and plumbing work, HVAC system maintenance, and appliance repair.
  • Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties, and ensure storage areas remain locked when not in use.
  • Inspect and help coordinate all needed market-ready repairs and services, and assist market-ready staff as required to meet deadlines.
  • Report all major repairs and need requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Change locks and make keys, and remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant.
  • Assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc. to the dumpster when necessary.
  • Respond to any other requests made by the Maintenance Supervisor, Community Manager, Regional Maintenance Director, Regional Manager, or other company official as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in multifamily property maintenance, with strong knowledge of residential maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
