About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Deadstock Driver to join our team at Darling Ingredients Inc. in the Palisade, NE area. As a Deadstock Driver, you will be responsible for collecting dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collecting dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route
  • Managing your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and keeping an up-to-date paper log for compliance purposes
  • Providing exceptional professional service to all customers while following all laws and regulations
  • Keeping the truck clean and completing a vehicle condition report on a daily basis
Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Good driving record
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL driver's license
  • Must be registered on the relevant database
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment
  • Experience with truck hydraulics
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
  • Highly organized with superior time management skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to handle outside elements, summer heat, and winter cold
  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, up to 100 lbs
  • Frequently required to push, pull, move, or lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
