Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse on our Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our young patients and their families. Your duties will include:

  • Treating patients with compassion and respect
  • Providing education and guidance to patients and their families on mental and medical conditions
  • Offering advice and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Leading therapeutic groups and providing psychiatric crisis intervention
  • Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms
  • Helping to perform diagnostic tests and analyzing results
  • Operating medical machinery and administering treatment and medications
  • Assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
  • Teaching patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
  • A current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • A working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
  • A working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
  • A working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
