Operations Supervisor at Kristie Wilder, a dedicated non-profit organization

Kristie Wilder is an innovative dog care facility that offers a comprehensive range of services including rescue, adoption, rehabilitation, sanctuary, and hospice care for dogs in need. We also provide boarding, training, daycare, and additional services to the community, all aimed at supporting our mission of exceptional care for every dog and their human companions.

Compensation

$42,000-48,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

The Shelter Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operations, ensuring that our team meets the essential needs of our dogs while maintaining a clean and organized facility.

The successful candidate will:

  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations regarding shelter management.
  • Independently manage daily operations, including staff and volunteer oversight, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and address any concerns raised by employees and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure the well-being of shelter animals and coordinate necessary veterinary care.
  • Monitor financial operations and adjust expenditures to adhere to budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, updating them as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Directors and participate in monthly meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records for all dogs, staff, and volunteers, as well as safety and maintenance protocols.
  • Supervise shelter staff and volunteers, ensuring humane treatment and monitoring animal behavior.
  • Foster positive relationships with the community, staff, volunteers, and local veterinarians.
  • Manage outreach and fundraising events to promote community engagement.
  • Address public inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Regularly assess the health and behavior of shelter animals, collaborating with veterinary staff as needed.
  • Implement daily care protocols to ensure the health and comfort of all animals.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory role within animal care, veterinary services, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in Animal Shelter Management or related disciplines.
  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Strong communication and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with shelter management software and general office operations.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
