Student Health and Wellness Role

Lucia Mar Unified School District seeks a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in promoting student health, well-being, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement evidence-based health programs to promote student wellness and prevent disease.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive learning environment that prioritizes student health.
  • Conduct regular health assessments and screenings to identify potential health risks and provide early interventions.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students with special health needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share student health information and involve them in decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in school nursing, ensuring the highest level of care for our students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a registered nurse from the Board of Nurse Examiners and Nurse Registration, State of California.
  • At least three years of experience as a school nurse or in a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health education programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
