Position Summary: The Electrical Mechanic Specialist is responsible for executing electrical and electronic repairs on production machinery and other equipment within the facility. This role involves the installation, modification, and maintenance of various types of production machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule.
- Conduct electrical and electronic troubleshooting on machinery and related circuits.
- Perform repairs on machinery, circuits, and throughout the facility.
- Utilize meters and electrical testing equipment to diagnose and repair circuits in both machines and the facility.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of electrical and electronic components, systems, and related equipment.
- Interpret and understand electrical schematics and diagrams, and install new circuits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including Handgards, OSHA, and other relevant policies.
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Identify and report deficiencies in electrical and electronic systems, particularly those affecting safety.
- Repair, relocate, and modify production machinery as required.
- Plan maintenance tasks and compile lists of necessary materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and machine diagrams.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Possess a strong understanding of mechanical principles.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance safety and productivity.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree or equivalent from a technical school, or six months to one year of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or one to two years of relevant experience preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a related field is desirable.
Qualifications: To succeed in this role, candidates must effectively perform all essential duties. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and mathematical operations.
- Capable of interpreting technical instructions and dealing with various variables.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with inventory control and parts identification.
Language Skills: Candidates should be able to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and technical documents. Effective communication skills in both written and oral formats are essential.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position require regular use of hands and fingers, as well as the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Candidates may need to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve climbing, kneeling, or crawling.
