Position Overview: The role of a Speech Language Pathology Assistant involves delivering coordinated speech therapy services to individuals across various age groups under the guidance of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the speech therapy treatment plan as outlined by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to liaise with families, the supervising SLP, and other staff members.
  • Participate in IEP meetings as necessary and perform administrative and scheduling tasks.
  • Document student progress, including targeted skills and the type and amount of support provided, and conduct screenings for SLP interpretation.
  • Design and execute activities and materials aimed at skill development in alignment with the goals set by the supervising SLP.
  • Deliver therapy through various service models, including teletherapy, in-person sessions, individual, and group therapy.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and facilitate their use among team members to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and competency.
  • Promote the agency's philosophy and policies to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric and/or school-based settings is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of therapy practices as per established standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsive to inquiries and reliable transportation is required.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Current active state license to practice speech therapy in the relevant state.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must meet vaccination requirements of partnering educational institutions.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, walking, and some physical activities.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other equipment is necessary.

Working Environment:

  • Possession of a personal computer with teleconferencing capabilities is required.
