Job Title: Manager, Quality Control Laboratory

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Manager, Quality Control Laboratory at Hoxworth Blood Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of blood and blood components, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Quality Control Laboratory, ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services.
  • Manage daily departmental activities, including blood and blood component manufacturing and quality control testing.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
  • Develop and maintain departmental software, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or related field.
  • MLS (ASCP), SBB(ASCP), or MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the health care industry, or related experience, in the areas of immunohematology reference testing, and/or transfusion service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of direct supervisory experience managing employees, teams or assets.
