Production Supervisor Night Shift

Job Summary:

This position will oversee and direct the supervision of our further processing production operations. The ideal candidate will ensure production meets objectives at a designed quality level consistent with the lowest cost while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the further processing production operations of the plant.
  • Coordinate the production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping, and receiving areas.
  • Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals.
  • Set objectives and review shift's performance versus objectives.
  • Encourage subordinates to find ways to reduce costs.
  • Ensure sanitation meets USDA standards.
  • Coordinate production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.
  • Analyze equipment on a daily basis and review with maintenance superintendent.
  • Provide a clear sense of direction for supervisors to work toward and encourage teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Establish challenging goals and standards for each supervisor and encourage them to give their best effort.
  • Ensure effective utilization of human resources by training subordinates, motivating consistent performances, appraising performance, recommending salary action, and developing for potential promotion.
  • Monitor operations to meet company policies, quality specifications, USDA, and OSHA standards.
  • Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
  • Manage all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment.
  • Take immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the poultry/food industry required, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to interact with operational and processing management.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Education:
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
