Job Summary

Elite Staffing Network LLC is seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in support of Branch Health Clinics for Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures and services, adhering to radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Log completed patients in the commands hospital information system (CHCS) and send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading via the PACS.
  • Receive patients, explain procedures, and provide humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear of the examination.
  • Position patients for examinations, make technical adjustments, and determine if any special patient preparation is required.
  • Process digital images, submit for interpretation by radiologists, and document all procedures and maintain records.
  • Assist in coordinating schedules, daily logs, and data submission for monthly reports.
  • Perform Acute Care diagnostic studies and procedures, including extremities, chest, abdomen, and head.
  • Research, develop, and formulate new techniques for routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks, recognize artifacts and equipment errors, and notify designated Government personnel.
  • Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions and report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section.
  • Observe and report symptoms related to adverse reactions to contrast media and institute emergency measures as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Experience: Possess one (1) year full-time experience as a diagnostic radiologic technologist within the preceding two (2) years, to include experience with digital imaging.
  • Licensure: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
