Telecommunications Coordinator

The Telecommunications Coordinator at Oglebay will serve as a vital link in the communication network, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing calls are handled with professionalism and courtesy. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Proficiently operates the telephone operator board or PBX switchboard.
• Available for weekend shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• Manages all incoming calls to the facility.
• Routes calls to guest accommodations, personnel, or various departments through the PBX system.
• Facilitates outgoing calls as required.
• Provides guests with information regarding facility services and amenities.
• Knows the appropriate response for emergency calls.
• Assists in documenting any issues related to telephone equipment or service.
• Follows established telephone etiquette protocols.
• Participates in training new telecommunications staff on job responsibilities.
• Maintains awareness of and complies with health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures.
• Demonstrates multitasking skills, as additional tasks may be assigned.
• Responsible for activating and deactivating telephone services at the start and end of each operational day.
• Keeps accurate records of call logs.
• Communicates clearly and courteously with a friendly demeanor.
• Takes and relays messages for guests, provides information on services, and addresses inquiries about events.
• Engages with the public positively, resolving guest concerns effectively while fostering a collaborative environment with colleagues.
