Job Summary:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Birmingham Heart Clinic P.C, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing medical procedures. Your expertise in preparing and administering radioactive drugs, operating imaging equipment, and monitoring patient reactions will be essential in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Explain complex medical procedures to patients and address their concerns in a clear and concise manner.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff.
• Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring of reactions.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment, such as computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET) scanners, to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient procedures and radiation exposure levels.

Requirements:

• CNMT Certification (Required)
• Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine or a related field
• Preferred 12-month certification program in nuclear medicine technology with an associate or bachelor's degree in a health field, such as nursing or radiologic technology
• Experience with computed tomography (CT), nuclear cardiology (NCT), and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging modalities is highly desirable
