Job Title: Academic Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Coach to join our team. As an Academic Coach, you will work closely with students to help them achieve academic success and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tutor students in academic subjects and provide guidance on effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor students' attendance and progress, and document and communicate student progress to supervisors.
  • Refer students to supervisors when necessary and provide support and encouragement for independent learning.
  • Coordinate meetings and schedules with students as appropriate and complete data entry tasks using required database software.
  • Participate in initial training programs for developing teaching techniques and learning skills, and ongoing training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program (minimum of 6 credits for undergraduate students, 9 credits for graduate students).
  • Good academic standing (minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred) and demonstrated success in the course to be tutored.
  • Good conduct standing and successful completion of online student employee application.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a noisy area (above 85 decibels): No
  • Sedentary Work - Exerting 10 pounds: Not Required
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds: Not Required
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20-50 pounds: Not Required
  • Heavy Work - Exerting pounds: Not Required
  • Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds: Not Required
  • Travel: Not Required
