Job Summary
The State of Connecticut is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to fill various seasonal positions at Rocky Neck State Park. As a seasonal employee, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service and contributing to the overall success of the park.
Job Responsibilities
- Park Attendant: Provides general park services, including ticket sales, parking, and visitor assistance.
- Office Coordinator: Assists with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining records.
- Interpretive Guide: Develops and leads educational programs, including guided tours, nature walks, and interactive activities.
- Maintenance Worker: Performs various maintenance tasks, including cleaning, landscaping, and equipment operation.
- Crew Leader: Supervises and coordinates the work of maintenance crews, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks.
- Park Maintenance Supervisor: Oversees the maintenance of park facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Campground Office Staff: Provides customer service and administrative support to campers and park visitors.
- Campground Supervisor: Assists with the management of campground operations, including registration, customer service, and facility maintenance.
- Park Ranger: Provides visitor assistance, enforces park rules and regulations, and participates in educational programs.
- Park Ranger Supervisor: Oversees the work of park rangers, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of park services.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and visitors.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Park Attendant: Experience in customer service, retail, or a related field.
- Office Coordinator: Experience in administrative support, customer service, or a related field.
- Interpretive Guide: Experience in education, natural sciences, or a related field.
- Maintenance Worker: Experience in maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.
- Crew Leader: Experience in supervision, leadership, or a related field.
- Park Maintenance Supervisor: Experience in maintenance, supervision, or a related field.
- Campground Office Staff: Experience in customer service, retail, or a related field.
- Campground Supervisor: Experience in campground management, customer service, or a related field.
- Park Ranger: Experience in park operations, customer service, or a related field.
- Park Ranger Supervisor: Experience in park operations, supervision, or a related field.
Special Requirements
- Incumbents in this class may be required to obtain and retain a Basic First Aid Certificate.
- Incumbents performing lifeguard services must have and retain an American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguarding Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the class.
- Incumbents performing lifeguard services must be able to demonstrate American Red Cross (ARC) waterfront lifeguarding swimming skills.
